2 hours ago 0

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding drew a notable mix of NFL players and sports personalities to Madison Square Garden. Among the guests were JuJu Smith-Schuster and Super Bowl champion Cooper Kupp. The gathering featured numerous current and former Kansas City Chiefs players, including Kareem Hunt. Kelce’s brother Jason, who retired after winning the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, was also anticipated, alongside San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle and other notable figures from various sports.

Even soccer had a representation through ‘Ted Lasso’ star Jason Sudeikis, an avid Chiefs supporter. The event unfolded in the historic venue that serves as home to both the NBA’s New York Knicks and the NHL’s Rangers. Swift has a connection to the arena, having attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals there. On that occasion, the Knicks made history by overturning a 29-point deficit to defeat San Antonio, marking the largest comeback in that playoff stage.

Madison Square Garden has witnessed many memorable sports moments since its opening over Penn Station in 1968. The Knicks won their first NBA championship here in 1970, with Willis Reed’s iconic return from injury leading them to a Game 7 triumph over the Los Angeles Lakers. The venue also hosted the ‘Fight of the Century’ in 1971, where Joe Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali before Ali claimed victory in their 1974 rematch. In 1994, the Garden was where the Rangers ended their lengthy title drought by winning the Stanley Cup against the Vancouver Canucks.

As for Kelce, his accomplishments include three Super Bowl wins with the Kansas City Chiefs and four All-Pro selections. Jason Kelce also has numerous accolades, being a seven-time All-Pro who was crucial in Philadelphia’s 2017 Super Bowl win.
