Taylor Swift Achieves New Spotify Milestone
Taylor Swift’s latest country track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” has broken records on Spotify. On June 5, Spotify revealed via Instagram that Swift’s new song has become the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist.
Swift’s track is a part of Pixar’s upcoming film “Toy Story 5,” scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 19. Swift shared a nostalgic Instagram video featuring her in a cowgirl costume with the song playing in the background.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” Swift commented in her post. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a ‘Toy Story’ kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”
Swift extended her gratitude to “Toy Story 5” director Andrew Stanton. She thanked Stanton for envisioning her in the project. She also expressed her appreciation to composer Randy Newman for his contributions to the film’s music.
Collaborations and Inspirations
“I Knew It, I Knew You” was co-written by Swift and her close collaborator, Jack Antonoff. Swift highlighted the collaboration and the admiration for the “Toy Story” characters that influenced their childhood.
Swift further discussed her longstanding love for the “Toy Story” franchise in another post. She shared her excitement and inspiration for writing for these beloved characters. Swift related how viewing “Toy Story 5” in its early stages inspired the song.
The record-breaking song is now available on all streaming services.
