Tiger Woods’ Public Appearance Raises Concerns Among Fans

1 month ago 0

Tiger Woods has largely remained away from the public eye following a DUI incident in March that led to his arrest. Recently, a pre-recorded video message aimed at fellow former professional golfer Notah Begay has sparked concern among fans. The video was played at the Payne Stewart Award ceremony, where Woods congratulated Begay on his achievements in golf and his contributions to Native American communities.

Woods reflected on their long-standing friendship and praised Begay for his philanthropic work, noting the significant impact Begay has had on over 80,000 youths and their families through initiatives like the sports complex in San Felipe.

“You first came into my life when I was 11 years old, playing in the junior world and you came to watch me play. Our friendship has started there and never ended,” Woods stated in the video. “To see what you’ve done off the golf course – I know you’ve won four times on the tour, playing in the President’s Cup… But to see what you’ve done off the course and for your local Native American communities, you’ve helped over 80,000 youths and their families, which is absolutely incredible.”

Begay received the prestigious Payne Stewart Award, which honors professional golfers for their character, sportsmanship, and charitable work. Woods emphasized the importance of Begay’s work for tribal communities and commended his efforts to elevate their opportunities.

Despite the positive message, some fans expressed concern on social media about Woods’ appearance. One observer noted Woods didn’t look well, while others commented on his facial hair and overall demeanor.

A few supporters, however, shared encouraging words, suggesting Woods appeared to be off steroids and painkillers, hoping for his continued recovery.

In March 2026, Woods was involved in another car crash on Jupiter Island, Florida, resulting in a DUI arrest where opioids were allegedly found in his possession. After the arrest, he traveled to Switzerland for rehabilitation in April and returned to the U.S. in May, remaining private until this appearance.

Woods also recently took part in introducing PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp at a significant news conference, marking another step in his return to public life. He continues to play a role in the Tour’s Future Competition Committee. Woods is scheduled to appear in court for the DUI charge on September 8.
