Tragic Fire at Bangkok Bar Claims Multiple Lives

A devastating fire occurred at a bar in northern Bangkok, resulting in significant loss of life. The blaze broke out on Sunday night, with intense flames emerging from the venue’s entrance.

According to investigators, inappropriate soundproofing materials contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. The tragedy left more than two dozen people dead, and many others critically injured.

Atipat Wijan, a regular performer at the bar, described frequent electrical issues at the venue. Despite noticing a faint burning smell near the stage, he initially dismissed it. However, moments later, the situation escalated.

Video footage captured the shocking moment when the fire erupted, resembling a giant flamethrower. An explosion followed, causing panic among patrons. Some managed to escape by breaking windows at the front, while others fled towards the back, where many tragically lost their lives.

By the following evening, Thai authorities confirmed the death toll had reached 28, with scores injured, including dozens in critical condition. They withheld information about the victims and the precise cause of the fire.

This incident is the latest in a series of tragedies at entertainment venues in Bangkok. The city, known for its popularity among international tourists, often faces criticism for its lax safety standards.

Mr. Atipat expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his bandmates and close friends, emphasizing how swiftly the disaster unfolded.
