Trump Calls for Cancellation of 250th Anniversary Concert

1 month ago 0

President Trump recently urged the cancellation of a concert series set to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday this summer. This call followed a withdrawal by several musicians.

Using the social media platform Truth Social, Trump voiced his opinion with, “Cancel it.” He suggested replacing the concert with a “giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY.” He criticized the performing musicians as “overpriced singers” with “boring” music.

The events are organized by Freedom 250, which planned a series of nine musical acts over a 16-day exposition. This exposition, called the Great American State Fair, will be held on the National Mall starting in late June as part of the birthday festivities.

At least five musicians have withdrawn from the event. Some of these artists stated they were unaware the event was part of a Trump administration initiative.

Earlier, Trump suggested he should headline the event instead of canceling it. He described himself as “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World” and claimed he draws “much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime.” He proposed taking the place of the “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists.’”
