President Trump is scheduled to speak at the Pentagon on the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. He will not visit Ground Zero. When asked why, Trump simply stated he would be at the Pentagon instead.

A White House representative mentioned that Vice President Vance will travel to New York City, ensuring that all major sites are represented by administration officials. According to The New York Times, Trump had initially considered speaking at Ground Zero, but other logistical factors influenced his decision, including a trip to his golf course in Ireland the following day.

Since 2012, politicians have been restricted from delivering remarks at Ground Zero. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly highlighted Trump’s personal connection to the events of September 11, 2001, as a New Yorker. On this significant day, the President will commemorate the victims of the attacks and pay tribute to the heroic first responders.

This marks the second consecutive year Trump will honor the anniversary at the Defense Department. Both Trump and Vance participated in the Ground Zero ceremony in 2024, alongside then-President Biden and Vice President Harris.
