Major Jason Watson, a U.S. airman known for publicly calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment, has faced legal actions following his protests.
In July, Watson was initially arrested at the U.S. Capitol steps, a move that led to his pretrial confinement beginning August 18.
On Monday, further legal developments unfolded as Watson was officially charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
CNN reported on the charges against Watson, referring to a document shared by his attorney. Watson’s charges include:
- Three violations of Article 88 due to alleged contemptuous comments about President Trump.
- Five violations of Article 92 for purported non-compliance with orders.
- Two violations of Article 133 concerning alleged behavior unbecoming of an officer.
