3 weeks ago 0

Universal Studios has taken action after an unauthorized copy of its popular film “The Odyssey” appeared online. The studio quickly initiated takedown procedures upon discovering the leak and emphasized its commitment to protecting its intellectual property rights.

In a statement, Universal stressed the seriousness of copyright infringement and vowed to explore all available legal measures to safeguard its content. The leaked version of the film, directed by Christopher Nolan, was posted on social media platform X and gathered over 2.1 million views before being replaced with a takedown notice.

The unauthorized post appeared on X last Saturday at 2:25 p.m. Pacific Time and resulted in the suspension of the account that shared it within three hours, according to Variety.

Despite the leak, “The Odyssey” remains highly popular in cinemas, continuing to attract large audiences during its second weekend. High demand for tickets previously led to the crashing of AMC’s app, with users reporting wait times of up to an hour. The film earned $87 million in its second weekend, according to Rentrak, a company specializing in box office analytics.
