Bryson DeChambeau remains hopeful about the future of LIV Golf amid uncertainty. Recent news about the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) withdrawing support after the 2026 season has left the league’s future uncertain. Despite this, DeChambeau is trying to keep morale high through a changed perspective.
In light of these developments, DeChambeau has considered various paths. He has mentioned the possibility of growing his YouTube presence and focusing primarily on major championships. The two-time U.S. Open winner has also spoken about potentially returning to the PGA Tour and the challenges that might arise in doing so.
As the LIV event in Korea approaches, where DeChambeau is the defending champion, he continues to advocate for the league’s future. Speaking about the PIF’s decision, he said, “We were surprised that they pulled out as quickly as they did. We didn’t really see that coming. But that’s okay. One door closes, another opens.” DeChambeau believes in the business model of team golf, finding it promising compared to other existing models.
“We’ll see if investors like it or not. I’m giving all I can to make it happen, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t happen,” DeChambeau stated.
According to reports from Sportico and CNBC, LIV Golf is reaching out to potential investors with a new strategy. The plan involves a 10-event global schedule, included in a 12-event total schedule for 2026. The league is seeking an investment ranging from $250 million to $350 million, aiming to achieve profitability within three years.
As DeChambeau plays in various tournaments, his involvement and influence remain pivotal in determining LIV Golf’s trajectory.
