4 weeks ago 0

The cities of Pattaya welcomed approximately 5,000 sailors and Marines from the USS Abraham Lincoln. These service members had been on an extended deployment, primarily focusing on the Iran conflict, before arriving in the Thai resort city for a much-deserved break.

On Wednesday, Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet extended hospitality to the U.S. service members by offering them souvenirs at a local hotel. This gesture marked a warm welcome to the crew members enjoying their first substantial time off in nine months.

Transitioning from the rigorous environment of the carrier, the sailors and Marines were seen embracing the casual atmosphere. They swapped their uniforms for relaxed attire, enjoying the leisure opportunities offered by Pattaya.

The presence of the U.S. personnel in Pattaya has created a buzz, as their arrival signifies a temporary shift from military duties to enjoying the cultural and recreational amenities the city has to offer.
