Victor Marx Assembles All-Marine Ticket for Colorado’s Gubernatorial Race

Republican Colorado gubernatorial nominee and Marine veteran Victor Marx is leading a campaign aimed at tackling the democratic socialist movement. Marx aims to bring what he describes as the “steely spines” needed in politics today.

Combatting Socialism

Marx is critical of socialism, viewing it as a precursor to communism. “There’s never been a successful socialism program. Let’s say it for what it is,” Marx stated in a Fox News Digital interview.

After winning the primary race in June, Marx stands on a platform of public safety, social conservatism, and addressing cost of living issues. His win coincided with several Democratic Party victories, including that of democratic socialist Melat Kiros who defeated incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado.

Marines Join the Race

Marx’s solution to the shifting political landscape is to introduce military discipline at the state level. He has selected retired Marine Col. George Markert as his running mate, establishing an all-Marine ticket. Marx believes they bring necessary attributes such as discipline and integrity.

Col. Markert boasts over 30 years of service in the Marines, having held senior positions at U.S. Central Command and various Logistics Groups. After transitioning to civilian life, Markert took charge of infrastructure operations across North America.

Political Outsiders

As founder of All Things Possible Ministries, Marx positions himself and Markert as political outsiders who promise accountability and discipline to counter the socialist movement.

He highlighted the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), saying they are organized, well-funded, and intent on reshaping Colorado’s governance.

Political Debate on Safety

Public safety has become a core political issue, especially as Colorado’s crime rates exceed national averages. In 2024, the state recorded approximately 476 violent crimes and 2,593 property crimes per 100,000 residents. These figures are significantly higher than the national rates.

Marx criticized the DSA’s stance on policing and described state leaders as more focused on ideology than protecting families. He voiced concerns about policies threatening free speech.

Opponent Criticized

Against Colorado Democratic Attorney General Phil Weiser, Marx argues that increased government spending has not led to enhanced public safety. Weiser frequently opposed the Trump administration’s policies as attorney general, including on citizenship and immigration.

Marx accused Weiser of failing to make Colorado safer, saying, “It’s softer on crime, and we’ve experienced it.”

Marx emphasizes a crucial choice for voters, suggesting taxpayers are burdened with higher expenses while receiving less from the government. He warns of a pivotal election that will decide Colorado’s future governance.
