Vincent Pastore, ‘The Sopranos’ Actor, Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, the renowned actor from “The Sopranos,” has passed away at the age of 80. His manager, Robert Attermann, confirmed his death, revealing that Pastore died at his home in The Bronx. Attermann shared, “Vinny passed away either yesterday or today.”

Attermann, who represented Pastore for over three decades, expressed his admiration for the actor’s career. He said, “To many, he will always be remembered as ‘Big Pussy’ from ‘The Sopranos.’ However, those who knew him saw much more.” Pastore’s portrayal of Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero solidified his place in television history, as he became a significant member of Tony Soprano’s group before his character’s betrayal.

Apart from his iconic role in “The Sopranos,” Pastore’s career included appearances in films such as “Goodfellas,” “A Bronx Tale,” and “Carlito’s Way.” His television work featured roles in “Blue Bloods,” “Law & Order,” and a recent voice role in “Yellowjackets.”

Attermann remarked on Pastore’s love for acting and his willingness to support young talents. “He was passionate about his craft and always generous with guidance and support,” Attermann noted.

Pastore also participated in reality TV, taking part in shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “Celebrity Apprentice.” Attermann spoke highly of Pastore’s character, describing him as “one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known.”

“He appreciated those who supported him and made them feel valued,” Attermann added. “For me, losing Vinny is deeply personal. I witnessed his remarkable career and the incredible person he was.”

Attermann extended his condolences to Pastore’s family, friends, and fans, emphasizing the lasting impact of his work and personality. “He leaves behind a legacy beyond his memorable performances,” he stated.

Pastore is survived by his daughter Renee, who mourns the loss of her father.
