Upon arrival, officers found Handy, aged 81, lying unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to his chest. Handy was quickly transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The LAPD identified the suspect as Michael Gledhill, 44, from Tarzana. Investigators reported that Gledhill approached the officers upon their arrival, admitting he was the person they were looking for.
