Brian Hooker’s Contradictory Account in Wife’s Disappearance Case

3 weeks ago 0

A phone call recorded by a friend of Brian Hooker has introduced new details into the case of his missing wife, Lynette Hooker, in the Bahamas. The conversation implies that Brian was in the water with Lynette, which contradicts his original statement to authorities.

On April 4, the couple left Hope Town, Bahamas, around 7:30 p.m. on their dinghy. Brian Hooker reported that his wife fell overboard due to turbulent waters. He claimed he paddled alone to Marsh Harbour, reaching it around 4 a.m. the next day.

Brian and Lynette, who lived on their sailboat named Soulmate, often voyaged throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean. However, a phone call made by Brian to fellow boater Blaine Stevenson two days later challenges his account. Stevenson told Fox News Digital that the call suggests Brian was in the water, conflicting with his statement that he remained in the dinghy while Lynette drifted away.

Lynette was determined, hit by a flare pistol, and we struggled to return to the boat. Waves overwhelmed the dinghy, leading to several bailing attempts. I wasn’t attached to the dinghy key, which made efforts to regain control difficult.

Despite moments in the call suggesting otherwise, Brian maintained he was in the dinghy throughout the ordeal.

An adjunct professor of maritime law from the University of Houston, Kenneth Engerrand, stated, “Brian’s story lacks consistency, raising doubts every minute.” Hooker’s narrative contained conflicting elements, suggesting fabrication.

Following GPS discrepancies revealed by U.S. authorities, a renewed search by the Coast Guard focused on different areas within Bahamian waters. U.S. investigators, considering it a homicide, continue their inquiry based on GPS data indicating mismatches with Brian’s account.

Brian Hooker’s legal representative from Michigan encouraged the public to remain impartial, advocating for understanding amid diverse interpersonal dynamics. Despite the ongoing investigation, she advocates for treating Brian fairly.
