Carolina Hurricanes Even the Stanley Cup Final

The Carolina Hurricanes leveled the Stanley Cup Final series with a victory against the Vegas Golden Knights. Jordan Staal led the charge, scoring two crucial goals in the game held in Las Vegas. The series now stands at 2-2, with the next game scheduled to take place at Carolina’s Lenovo Center.

With 13:39 left in Game 4, a costly turnover by Shea Theodore of the Golden Knights allowed Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis to challenge the defense. Although Carter Hart initially blocked Jarvis’ attempt, the puck found its way to Nicolaj Ehlers, who assisted Staal’s successful backhand shot that slipped past Hart. Staal now holds the distinction of scoring in each of the first four games of the Stanley Cup Final, a feat last achieved 44 years ago.

The Hurricanes demonstrated strong defense and goalkeeping, with Brandon Bussi making timely saves. Bussi stopped 7 out of 20 shots on goal, contributing to the win. Ehlers sealed the 5-3 victory with a skillful empty-net goal. The Hurricanes had a commanding start, scoring three times in the first period, countering the Golden Knights’ single response.
