Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Ohio, faces charges of attempted murder of a federal officer and conspiracy against the United States. Federal law enforcement disrupted a planned attack at the UFC Freedom 250 event, held at the White House, according to court records.
Proper is among several arrested in the plot targeting the White House event celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary. An affidavit reveals that during an interview, Proper allegedly admitted to coordinating the attack with others. The UFC event was scheduled for June 14, 2026, on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C.
The affidavit includes a statement from Proper’s mother. She mentioned his involvement with an online group that claimed to be made up of ex-military and Christian-based members. This group allegedly held ultra-religious and antigovernment views.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated on social media that law enforcement learned about the planned attack on June 10. He confirmed that multiple individuals were taken into custody, and the alleged attacks were prevented. Newsweek has reached out to Proper’s public defender for comments.
