For five days, smoke from a fire at a cold-storage warehouse in Boyle Heights has continued to spread across Los Angeles. The fire department reports progress in tackling the blaze.
Impact on Air Quality
Central Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley are particularly affected by smoke. The South Coast Air Quality Management District has extended air quality warnings until midday Monday. Wind may carry smoke to Riverside and Orange Counties. Particulates have reached ‘very unhealthy’ levels in certain areas.

Despite the smoke, major events proceeded as scheduled on Sunday. This included the World Cup match between Belgium and Iran at SoFi Stadium and the Dodgers game against the Baltimore Orioles at Dodger Stadium.
