Erling Haaland Shines in 2026 World Cup Debut

1 day ago 0

Manchester City and Norway’s renowned striker, Erling Haaland, is making the most of his first appearance at the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup. Both his on-field performance and his off-field escapades are grabbing attention.

At 25, Haaland has already scored two goals in each of his initial matches against Iraq and Senegal. Despite these impressive feats, his online activity may leave an even more lasting impression. Haaland consistently shares posts about his struggles with golf on his days off, while humorously acknowledging the fun he’s having.

Recently, the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner delighted fans with a photo dump from the group stage. It included a video capturing his amazed reaction to a New York deli sandwich and a special appearance by Travis Scott.

In one photo, Haaland surprises Scott with a signed No. 9 Norway jersey, inscribed with “To Travis, Best Wishes!” Although Scott is a devoted Brazil fan, enthusiastically celebrating Vinicius Junior’s goal against Morocco on June 13, Haaland’s gesture momentarily swayed his allegiance toward Norway. Haaland has a knack for influencing those around him.

Norway is competing in their first Men’s World Cup since 1998 and emerged as an unexpected contender after their initial group-stage matches. However, after resting ten starters, including Haaland, against France, they conceded Group I to Les Bleus. The upcoming knockout stage remains uncertain.

Haaland is set to return to action when Norway faces Ivory Coast in the Round of 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Tuesday, June 30. Like Norway in Group I, Ivory Coast finished second behind Germany in Group E.
