Trump Criticizes Media and Threatens Further Action Against Iran

President Donald Trump criticized the “fake news” media during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. He accused them of wanting the United States to lose its conflict with Iran. Trump defended his military strategy and warned of more strikes on Tehran.

According to Trump, Iran’s military has been heavily damaged, yet they still receive positive coverage. “All they do is talk and they have fake press,” Trump stated. He suggested the media is biased against him.

Trump specifically mentioned The New York Times, alleging they reported that Iran is in a better position now compared to before the U.S.-Israeli campaign. He dismissed their military capabilities, claiming they have no Navy or Air Force.

Trump also talked about Iran’s severe inflation, purportedly increasing to 301% from 5%. He criticized The Times for suggesting that Iran’s situation had improved despite these challenges.

The President did not provide specific details about the Times article or its author. He hinted at further military actions following missile and drone exchanges between the U.S. and Iran. “We’re going to hit them very hard tonight,” Trump asserted.

Discussing potential targets, Trump mentioned Pickaxe Mountain, an underground complex near Natanz. “Pickaxe is a possible target,” Trump noted. He claimed U.S. surveillance had not observed renewed nuclear activities there.

Reuters reported that Pickaxe Mountain includes tunnels potentially too deep for U.S. bunker-busting bombs. The International Atomic Energy Agency has not inspected this site. Satellite images indicated vehicle activity and possible construction work.

Trump expressed distrust in Iran’s leadership with nuclear weapons. “If they ever had a nuclear weapon, they’d use it within one day,” he argued.

The U.S. Central Command announced plans to resume a blockade of ships linked to Iranian ports, allowing humanitarian shipments but warning of potential force if ships do not comply.
