Trump Administration’s Alleged Information Sharing with Iranian Officials

A recent sworn declaration from a lawyer reveals claims that an Iranian official received continual dossiers on Iranian detainees from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The information was reportedly shared over several months. According to the documents filed in federal court, the Trump administration intended to deport all Iranians held in American immigration detention facilities.

The filings were submitted in Federal District Court in Washington, detailing the behind-the-scenes interactions that resulted in the deportation of more than 100 Iranians to Tehran. This occurred between September 2025 and January 2026, shortly before U.S. military actions against Iran began in February.

The Department of Homeland Security, overseeing ICE, has denied these allegations but did not address the specific details in the recent court filings. The State Department has yet to comment on these developments.

The Iranian American Legal Defense Fund, a civil rights group, made these declarations to demonstrate that the Trump administration supposedly violated legal protocols by disclosing sensitive information to Iran’s government. This confidential information put several Iranians at risk of persecution.

One of the declarations came from Cyrus Mehri, a board member and lawyer for the Iranian American Legal Defense Fund. Mr. Mehri recounted a conversation and a meeting in March with an unnamed Iranian official. This official allegedly maintained open communications with ICE regarding deportation efforts. Mr. Mehri noted that the initial contact occurred through an unanticipated call, with the Iranian representative expressing his perspectives on deporting Iranians.

The documents allege that the goal of the Trump administration was to remove all Iranians detained in the United States. It is claimed that the State Department disclosed details about individuals fleeing the Iranian regime, contributing to these deportation efforts.
