A body was found at a rental property owned by Conan Harris, husband of Democratic Massachusetts Representative Ayanna Pressley. The discovery was made on Saturday afternoon.
The Boston Police Department confirmed the incident to CBS News and Fox News Digital. Officers responded to the house on Malta Street in Boston’s Mattapan area. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed yet. The department’s homicide unit is leading the investigation.
Property records accessed by CBS News show Harris owns the two-story rental home, valued at approximately $919,000. He has been married to Pressley since 2014.
Harris addressed the situation via Facebook, stating, “Thank you Everyone for the care and concern, our family is safe.” He expressed sorrow for the family affected by the loss.
A spokesperson for Pressley conveyed her condolences, saying, “The Congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” as reported by CBS News.
