President Donald Trump announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the United States on September 24. The key focus of their discussions is expected to be artificial intelligence (AI). Trump disclosed this information during a speech at the Environmental Protection Agency, highlighting his administration’s efforts to construct more AI data centers.
Trump stated, President Xi is coming over on September 24th. We talked about it when I was over in Beijing, and we’ll be talking about it again.
He emphasized the importance of AI by describing it as probably the biggest thing anybody’s ever seen.
Trump stressed that the United States must maintain leadership in AI technology to compete and succeed globally.
The last meeting between the two leaders occurred during Trump’s earlier visit to Beijing this year. During that visit, Trump extended an invitation to Xi to visit the White House.
In preparation for this visit, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed the visit. Rubio highlighted the aim for a very positive visit,
according to a report by Reuters.
