ICE Agents Assist TSA Amid Shutdown

Arrest at Southwest Airlines

A Southwest Airlines flight attendant, Lorenzo Thompson, a Jamaican citizen, was arrested for overstaying his visa. ICE officials made the arrest on July 14 in Nashville, Tennessee. Thompson’s visa expired on October 16, 2021.

ICE states Thompson remained in the U.S. illegally and is in their custody pending proceedings. It offers illegal immigrants $2,600 and a free flight for self-deportation, urging lawful return attempts.

TWU Local 556, representing Southwest Airlines flight attendants, confirmed Thompson’s arrest and supports him. An online campaign collects funds for his legal costs, highlighting his dedication and pending asylum case.
