Zachary Ehlers, president of the Illinois Railway Museum, conducted a tour of a 1926 electrified rail car on July 26, 2026. This event took place during the Railroad Days celebration at Pullman National Historical Park on the Far South Side of Chicago. The occasion marked a century since electric trains commenced service, replacing steam locomotives for commuters along the south lakefront.
During the weekend festivities, attendees explored historical rail cars and had the chance to ride a miniature train. These activities offered a unique glimpse into the past and celebrated the transition to electric trains, which began service 100 years previously.
