FORT DRUM, N.Y. — Soldiers at Fort Drum Army base recently experienced a preview of a modern dining facility designed to provide tastier and more nutritious meals. The soft opening introduced a menu prioritizing balanced and appealing food choices to replace fast food options.
In this new dining hall, service members ordered dishes such as grilled salmon and steak through touchscreen kiosks. They also selected flatbreads and sides from a variety of options like red potatoes and cauliflower. The aim is to promote healthier eating habits among military personnel.
In addition to main courses, the facility offers a blend of flavors in protein shakes, with options like “Apple Pie” and “Cookies and Cream,” catering to diverse tastes. The sleek and innovative setup reflects an effort to enhance the overall dining experience and well-being of the troops.
