Will Scharf Appointed as White House Counsel

President Donald Trump announced through Truth Social that Will Scharf will become the new White House Counsel starting September 1st. Scharf will succeed David Warrington, who Trump praised for his outstanding service and noted that Warrington will move to the private sector.

Scharf has been serving as the White House staff secretary and was previously the Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission. He also represented Trump in several cases, including at the Supreme Court, during the Biden administration. Trump expressed confidence in Scharf’s abilities, highlighting his past roles as a federal prosecutor, private attorney, and his education at Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

Scharf often assisted Trump by handing over documents for signature in the Oval Office. This transition has been well received by Susie Wiles, the White House Chief of Staff, who congratulated Scharf on X and emphasized the future successes she anticipates with his appointment.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt retweeted Wiles’ congratulatory message, and Trump’s praise for Warrington’s tenure was evident in Wiles’ acknowledgment of his contributions, including the confirmation of 54 judges and 24 Supreme Court victories.

Josh Hammer, a conservative commentator, shared his support for Scharf’s appointment during a conversation with Fox News Digital. He described the decision as an excellent move for the White House counsel’s office. Hammer and Scharf had previously co-founded an initiative called “Jews Against Soros” to address concerns about perceived antisemitism.

Hammer explained that the effort opposed the notion that criticism of political donor George Soros equates to antisemitism, citing Soros’ alleged contributions to antisemitic and anti-Israel activities globally.
