Fatal Shooting on Chicago’s West Side Claims Two Lives

A tragic shooting occurred late Wednesday morning in the Garfield Park neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side, as reported by the police. A 25-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were both fatally wounded in the incident.

The violence unfolded shortly before noon on the 200 block of South Pulaski Road. The young man, while standing on this block, was approached by an unknown individual who then drew a firearm and shot him multiple times. Emergency services rushed him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead due to the severity of his injuries.

Nearby, in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road, police found an unresponsive 64-year-old woman. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite being promptly taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, she was also pronounced dead upon arrival.

Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene, driving south on Pulaski Road in a black sedan. The Chicago Police Department has launched an investigation into the shootings, deploying detectives to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
