The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has officially announced the end of a parasite outbreak that has affected thousands of individuals. The outbreak was linked to shredded iceberg lettuce grown in central Mexico.
The decision to declare the outbreak over comes after a significant reduction in the number of reported infections. Moreover, contaminated lettuce has been successfully removed from both store shelves and restaurant menus.
A photo captured a truck loaded with produce departing from a Taylor Farms facility in Doctor Mora, Mexico. This image was taken on July 26 by Daniel Becerril, Reuters, showcasing the effort to control and manage the affected produce.
