Disappointment Follows Cowboys’ Loss to Buccaneers

1 hour ago 0

After a difficult defeat against the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Thursday Night Football,” the Dallas Cowboys and their fans experienced clear frustration. A stadium employee shared his disappointment directly with Dak Prescott, calling the team’s performance “embarrassing” as Prescott headed to the locker room. This exchange gained attention after a video of the interaction went viral.

Prescott addressed this event during his postgame comments. “You know, when he said it, I just looked at him, and at that point, he looked away, and when I turned my head back, he said something else,” Prescott explained. He continued, “As just a person, you feel free to speak your mind; just don’t coward away from the reaction that you’re gonna get.”

He added, “If you’re saying it’s embarrassing, say it’s embarrassing. If you’re saying it to me, say it to me. Don’t go back on it.” Prescott expressed his dislike for the topic being discussed publicly.

The Cowboys faced a team led by undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels, in only his second NFL start. Daniels impressed with 189 yards, a touchdown pass, a 76% completion rate, and a passer rating of 110, performing well under pressure at Dallas.

In contrast, Prescott faced constant defensive pressure from the Buccaneers. This led to hurried throws, many landing off-target or resulting in interceptions. Prescott completed 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards, achieving one touchdown with teammate George Pickens but also throwing two interceptions. The game ended in a 24-16 loss, bringing their record to 2-3.

The Cowboys’ running game also struggled, with Javonte Williams and other running backs managing just 50 rushing yards. To compound issues, CeeDee Lamb left the game early due to a reported quad injury. Despite these setbacks, the Cowboys are still in contention within the NFC East. However, they need improvements ahead of their next match against the Green Bay Packers on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” on October 18.
