Rising Incidents of Bison Attacks
Jesse Watters reports alarming incidents involving bison in Yellowstone National Park. These include encounters where a grandfather was tossed eight feet in the air and a woman was dragged by these massive animals. The dangers posed by bison are serious, given their speed and size.
Bison Charge Captured on Video
A driver had an unnerving experience at Yellowstone Park when a bison charged his pickup truck. The bison stood on a dark road before rushing at the vehicle, colliding with its front. This incident was captured in a video shared on Facebook. The encounter occurred near Mud Volcano at around 2:45 a.m., reported by Cowboy State Daily.
Details of the Attack
Kyle Weber, a seasonal mechanic at Yellowstone, was driving from Canyon Village toward Fishing Bridge. He stopped upon seeing the bull bison. Rather than trying to pass, Weber waited for the bison to move. Suddenly, the animal charged, impacting the truck’s front-left side. Weber commented on the force of the impact, noting the damage to his truck.
“I definitely got jolted,” Weber recounted. “They hit hard, but that was pretty rough.”
Consequences and Response
The impact pushed Weber’s truck back about a foot and a half, resulting in damage to the bumper, hood, and side marker light. Weber intends to replace the bumper and side marker, using this opportunity for upgrades. He plans to keep the hood dent as a memento of the encounter.
“It has a cool story behind it,” Weber remarked. “Not everyone can say they have bison damage decorating their vehicle.”
Previous Bison Encounters
Other incidents of bison aggression have occurred at Yellowstone, with Fox News Digital previously reporting on a grandfather injured in an attack. Carl Isom-McDaniel was visiting with his grandson when a bison charged him at Bridge Bay Campground. He sustained severe injuries but emphasized the surprising speed of the animals. His focus on protecting his grandson was noted by witnesses.
