On a recent episode of “The View,” co-host Ana Navarro stated emphatically that she would not meet with President Donald Trump. The discussion arose from Trump’s dinner with comedian Bill Maher, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, and musician Kid Rock at the White House.
Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin, who have past affiliations with Trump, appeared open to such an invitation. However, Navarro firmly expressed, “Hell to the no.” She emphasized her refusal by stating, “There is no way in hell I would want to break bread or be in the same room with a man whose administration is hunting Latinos.”
“What he’s doing to Latinos is criminal,” Navarro remarked. She voiced her opinion that meeting Trump would not influence his administration. “I know that he has seen the polls of Latinos going against him,” she said, noting a significant drop in his support among the Latino community.
Navarro mentioned alternative avenues to challenge political figures, pointing to the midterm elections as an opportunity for accountability.
Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg supported Navarro’s stance. Hostin described Trump’s presidency as abnormal, citing actions against multiple communities, and stated she would not engage with him. Goldberg agreed, referencing Trump’s history of racial profiling.
Despite Navarro and others on “The View” rejecting the notion of meeting Trump, co-host Joy Behar expressed a desire for Trump to appear on the show. This statement came during a New York Magazine interview.
In related coverage, Kid Rock spoke about the dinner on “Fox & Friends.” He praised the event, remarking on the engaging conversation despite differing political views among the attendees.
