ACW Reckoning in Poughkeepsie Delivers Unforgettable Action

1 month ago 0

The notion of independent pro wrestling shows often conjures up images of small venues and up-and-coming wrestlers. However, Awesome Championship Wrestling (ACW) shattered those perceptions at their event, Reckoning, held on Saturday in Poughkeepsie, New York. A packed MJN Center hosted the thrilling event, which even aired on Triller. With its high-quality production and action-packed matches, the event was far from ordinary.

Climactic Tag Team Match

The event’s highlight was the ACW Tag Team Championship match. Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins, known as The Now, faced off against Sent 2 Slaughter’s Shawn Donovan and Danny Maff. Their rivalry had escalated to personal levels, with Donovan and Maff having crashed Dalishus’ wedding and Collins’ wrestling school ceremony. The four competed in a steel cage, with the first wrestler to exit declared the winner. However, controversy arose as Collins and Maff both reached the floor simultaneously, resulting in a contentious tie.

Dalishus and Collins faced unexpected adversity. Further drama unfolded once Sent 2 Slaughter, with their manager’s help, turned on ACW officials.

In a shocking turn, Sent 2 Slaughter’s manager locked the cage, and Maff participated in beating down Collins. Vincent and Dutch, known as The Righteous, entered the scene, but instead of offering aid, they restrained Collins and stole the tag belts. Meanwhile, Dalishus received a brutal attack.

Attempting to intervene, Dalishus’ wife frantically tried to open the cage. Officials eventually succeeded in prying it open. Sent 2 Slaughter retreated amid a shower of water bottles thrown by incensed spectators.

Dalishus Shares Aftermath

Following the match, Dalishus updated fans about his condition via Instagram.

“Last night’s cage match ended with me being taken from the arena on a stretcher after suffering multiple injuries,” Dalishus wrote.

He expressed gratitude to those who had shown concern, offering their thoughts and prayers.

Sami Zayn’s Struggles

Sami Zayn’s recent experiences have mirrored the challenges faced by many others in professional wrestling. After losing the United States Championship to Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42, and a subsequent rematch at Backlash, Zayn found himself introspective about his place in the wrestling world. His dissatisfaction extended to his fans, perplexed by their reactions to his sincere efforts.

“Things are changing around here,” Zayn stated. “This place is not what it used to be.”

Zayn’s reflections appeared to resonate with Johnny Gargano, who seemed moved by Zayn’s lamentations. Over his 15-year tenure in WWE, Zayn, a former champion in various segments, has experienced the ups and downs of the business.

As newer, less experienced wrestlers gain momentum, Zayn remains an emblem of perseverance, navigating the perpetual changes within WWE.
