Elizabeth Weiss, an anthropologist, reflects on the death of her husband, Nick Pope, a well-known UFO researcher who passed away in April. Weiss recalls a saying of her husband’s, ‘If you start looking for patterns, you will find them.’ Despite speculation about connections between such losses, the grief remains substantial.
David Wilcock’s journey into the world of the unexplained began in his childhood when he stumbled upon a dusty book about UFOs in his basement. His father, Donald, recalls that the book was not intended for children, but David was captivated. This fascination led him to dive deeper into the supernatural as he grew older.
In 2004, David co-authored a book claiming he was the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce, a renowned psychic from the 20th century. He gained recognition through his appearances on the television series ‘Ancient Aliens’ and established a paranormal-themed YouTube channel, Divine Cosmos, which boasts 550,000 subscribers.
Despite his growing presence as an advocate of extraterrestrial life, David faced increasing financial struggles and bouts of depression. These challenges were compounded by the end of his four-year marriage in 2021. ‘I knew he was struggling,’ his father commented, though he never anticipated the tragedy that unfolded in April.
On April 20, in Boulder County, Colorado, sheriff’s deputies were called to David’s home in Nederland, located in the Rocky Mountain foothills. David emerged from the house armed. Tragically, he took his own life shortly after the deputies arrived.
The event left a profound impact on Donald Wilcock. ‘No father should ever have to go through what I’m going through,’ he expressed during an interview, overwhelmed by the loss of his son.
