Amy Schumer is making the most of the last days of summer, displaying the results of her weight loss. At 45, the comedian posted a series of bikini photos on Instagram, confidently posing in a vibrant two-piece while enjoying time by the water. She smiled for the camera, giving followers a glimpse of her recent trip. Schumer captioned the post, “I never knew there would be days like this. No filter as per ushe.”
Comments from friends and fans rolled in quickly. “So beautiful, Amy. Happy and thriving,” wrote actress Kate Walsh. Others also praised her appearance.
Schumer has openly shared her journey with health and body image over the past two years. In October, she posted a photo on social media showcasing her transformation. Wearing a tiny black dress and heels, she was seen with friends at a Paul McCartney concert in Las Vegas. The photo drew supportive comments applauding her progress.
Last March, Schumer shared her experience with Mounjaro (tirzepatide) in a video on Instagram. Speaking directly to her nearly 13 million followers, she discussed her past struggles with Wegovy, noting, “I was like puking… I couldn’t handle it.” Opting for a telehealth meeting with MidiHealth, she found a more affordable option that worked for her and could pass recommendations along to friends.
The medication, primarily used for type 2 diabetes treatment, was part of her new health routine. Schumer also mentioned being prescribed estrogen and progesterone after discovering she was in perimenopause. “My symptoms of being in perimenopause have disappeared,” she noted.
She detailed these trials and adjustments during her appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” last year. Discussing medication-induced nausea, partly due to a gene called GDF15, she recalled how Ozempic left her bedridden despite its effects. She said, “I lost 30 pounds so quick… I looked great, and I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, so what’s the point?”
Schumer has consistently addressed the pressures on women in Hollywood regarding body image, often using humor to counteract criticism. In early 2024, she shared her diagnosis of Cushing syndrome following questions about facial swelling. She described the diagnosis as reassuring, leading to a better understanding of her health. Additionally, she has been open about her experience with endometriosis and undergoing a hysterectomy in 2021, advocating for more conversations on women’s health.
