In the 2025-2026 season, the Big Ten Conference emerged as the dominant force in college football, breaking the long-held dominance of the SEC. The Indiana Hoosiers wrapped up an impressive 16-0 season by claiming the National Championship. They defeated Ohio State in the conference championship, overwhelmed Alabama in the Rose Bowl, and crushed Oregon in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

This victory marked a significant triumph for the Big Ten, following the back-to-back successes of Michigan and Ohio State, who won championships in 2024 and 2025 respectively by defeating Notre Dame. While the SEC boasts depth across its teams, the Big Ten’s top teams have proven their excellence.

Ohio State and Indiana face challenges but have strong team compositions. Ohio State retains 60% of its production, while Indiana retains 56%, ranking them 31st and 52nd, respectively. Despite these challenges, Ohio State holds the top national spot due to exceptional recruiting and returning key players like Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith.
