Caleb Williams Set to Return for Chicago Bears

2 hours ago 0

After almost a month sidelined, Caleb Williams is ready to rejoin the Chicago Bears’ starting lineup. The quarterback missed three games due to a hamstring injury. His return depends on successful pregame warmups, as confirmed by OutKick and first reported by ESPN.

Williams’ injury against the Minnesota Vikings on September 20 left fans concerned. He was carted off the field during the game, raising doubts about his immediate future. Despite these fears, Williams is now prepared to face the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. During his absence, the Bears managed a 2-1 record.

He completed a week of practice without issues. Williams was cautious when speaking to reporters on Thursday, stating uncertainty about starting against Atlanta. He described his hamstring injury as “pretty serious” but opted not to reveal its specific grade.

While Williams was out, Case Keenum led the Bears to a 27-7 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. The next week, Tyson Bagent was the starting quarterback against the New York Jets, leading to a 23-12 win. However, the Bears struggled last week when the Green Bay Packers defeated them 31-7. In that game, Bagent started while Keenum took over in the fourth quarter.

The Bears currently hold a 3-2 record, creating a tie for second place in the NFC North with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, both also 3-2. The Minnesota Vikings lead the division with a 5-0 record. The Bears anticipate that Williams’ return will strengthen their position and assist in narrowing the gap with the Vikings.
