Robert Falls Returns to Chicago Theater
Renowned director Robert Falls is making a comeback in the Chicago theater scene, directing at Redtwist Theatre located at 1044 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. This venue, with fewer than 50 seats, presents a new challenge for Falls, who is known for his work at the larger Goodman Theatre. Falls’ upcoming show, ‘Flying Monkeys,’ a world premiere by Chicago’s L.C. Bernadine, will run from December 6 to January 17, 2027.
‘Flying Monkeys’ shines a light on the ‘troubled teen’ transportation industry. Falls describes the production as a ‘pop-up,’ fitting it between Redtwist’s existing schedule. Bernadine, both a writer and producer, is associated with the New Theatre Project. Falls expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Bernadine’s work. Although casting hasn’t been finalized, Redtwist’s non-Equity status offers emerging actors an opportunity to work with Falls.
