Children’s YouTuber ‘Ms. Rachel’ Accuses Celebrities of Racial Double Standards in Gaza Conflict

3 weeks ago 0

Children’s YouTuber Rachel Griffin Accurso, known as Ms. Rachel, has accused celebrities and leaders of racism for staying silent on the death of Palestinian children in Gaza. She claims this reflects a racial double standard in valuing children’s lives.

Ms. Rachel specifically criticized those who have not spoken publicly about the conflict, asserting they would likely react differently if the children were White. She voiced her concerns on Instagram, urging people to stop being racist and to take a stand.

“They probably would say something if these kids were White and from a different place. Please stop being racist and risk something,” Accurso stated.

The controversy arises just weeks after Accurso was criticized by podcaster Avi Lichtschein for labeling Israel’s actions against Hamas as genocide. Lichtschein emphasized that Accurso’s large audience gives her a responsibility to consider the impact of her statements.

Accurso claims that there are two types of public figures at the moment: those who speak up for Palestinian children and those who stay quiet. She insists that the latter perceive Palestinian children’s lives as less valuable.

“Those willing to shout at the top of their lungs that over 20,000 Palestinian children shouldn’t have been killed in the Gaza genocide and those that remain silent because these children are not worth it to them,” she emphasized.

The United Nations’ report indicated over 20,000 Palestinian children were killed between October 2023 and March of the following year. It criticized Israeli forces for targeting children, deeming the actions part of genocide. Israel rejected these findings, labeling the commission’s methodology as flawed.

Accurso’s statements have been further scrutinized due to her activism, including an incident where she reportedly liked an anti-Semitic comment by mistake and later apologized. Accurso maintains her advocacy is against the Israeli government, not its people.

Elizabeth Barcohana criticized Ms. Rachel’s advocacy, suggesting her activism sanitizes terrorism and calling her outrage selective. Barcohana argues Accurso’s figures are misleading and that she serves as a spokesperson for Hamas by using their information without distinguishing the context of the deaths reported.

Fox News Digital sought comments from various organizations but did not receive immediate responses. CJ Womack, Fox News Digital’s associate editor, contributed to this report.
