2 weeks ago 0

Cody Rhodes encountered unexpected challenges during Saturday night’s SummerSlam. He was competing against CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The match between Rhodes and Punk was intense, with both wrestlers striving to gain the upper hand. Each was determined to secure the championship belt.

A twist occurred when Rhodes accidentally removed the referee from the match while attempting a Cody Cutter from the top rope. The confusion was compounded as Randy Orton made his entrance, surprising the audience.

The Viper struck with an RKO on Rhodes, changing the course of the match.

CM Punk seized the opportunity, executing a Go to Sleep maneuver on Rhodes and securing a victory by pinning him.

Orton had been absent from action since his defeat against Rhodes at WrestleMania 42. Despite previous losses, Orton left SummerSlam with a sense of victory, having delivered another blow to Rhodes before exiting the ring.

This turn of events left Rhodes shocked and without the championship title. Meanwhile, Punk issued challenges to the SmackDown roster, hinting at potential opponents. Gunther and Trick Williams were mentioned as possible contenders following their performances that night.

The determination of the No. 1 contender will occur during Night 2 of SummerSlam, with Sami Zayn facing Finn Balor. Zayn seeks redemption after losing his title to Punk.
