Defense Claims Prosecutor Misconduct in Tyler Robinson Case

2 weeks ago 0

Criminal defense attorney Josh Ritter recently appeared on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to discuss the Tyler Robinson death penalty case. The defense is accusing the prosecution of misconduct, particularly regarding comments made to the media. Ritter also addressed the reaction to the Metcalf family following the verdict in the Karmelo Anthony case.

In a recent development, Lance Twiggs, the transgender roommate and romantic partner of Tyler Robinson, received limited immunity for providing a recorded statement to authorities. This information comes from a new court filing. According to Tuesday’s filing, Twiggs was granted ‘use-immunity’ for a statement made on April 20. The prosecution aims to present Twiggs’ recorded statement and his communications with Robinson at the upcoming July preliminary hearing concerning the death of Charlie Kirk.

During a February 3 hearing in 4th District Court in Provo, related to the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson appeared in court. Prosecutors stated that Twiggs provided a recorded statement under oath on April 20, in preparation for the preliminary hearing. He was cautioned that any false statement could result in charges of obstruction of justice. The United States Attorney’s Office and the Utah County Attorney’s Office provided Twiggs with use-immunity, ensuring that his April 20 statements could not be used against him.

This situation is unfolding, and Fox News will provide updates as more information becomes available.
