Authorities in Madison, New York, report that a tragic event unfolded when a man allegedly killed his parents before taking his own life. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Justin Sislo, had a history marked by violence and numerous arrests.
Deputies informed Fox News Digital about the incident where Justin Sislo is believed to have fatally shot his parents, 76-year-old Steve Sislo and 72-year-old Donna Walker-Sislo. The couple was discovered in their home on McCormick Road.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office described the scene, noting, “While observing the residence from the exterior, the first responding Deputy observed two adult subjects, obviously deceased, through a main level window. Upon making entry to the home, a third adult subject was located deceased inside.”
The Sislo couple had recently made a payment of $10,000 to secure their son’s release from jail, where he faced multiple charges related to domestic violence. In fact, they had bailed him out twice within a month.
During the investigation, deputies found multiple firearms in Justin Sislo’s possession, despite two protective orders prohibiting him from owning weapons. Earlier, his record included charges of “strangulation” and “endangering an incompetent” from incidents in Cayuga County in June.
The Sheriff’s office and court records highlight the troubling background of Sislo. His father, Steve Sislo, was well-known in the local community as a businessman and philanthropist engaged with groups such as the Capitol Theatre and the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce.
In a public statement, Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood expressed frustration, criticizing the decision that allowed Justin Sislo to remain free on bail. Hood lamented that Sislo was not kept in custody given the severity of his previous charges.
