1 month ago 0

Four people were killed in a plane crash near the Alaska community of Seldovia on Wednesday, as reported by state authorities. The unfortunate incident involved a Piper PA-24 aircraft.

The plane had taken off from Anchorage and was en route to Seldovia airport when it crashed in Seldovia Slough close to the shoreline. The aircraft ended up submerged in around 15 feet of water. This condition necessitated Alaska State Troopers and other responders to wait for the tide to recede before accessing the wreckage.

All four people aboard the aircraft were recovered and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are currently withheld as authorities work to notify their families.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) actively investigating the incident. Alarmingly, this crash is the second fatal aviation accident in Alaska within a week.

This story is developing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
