Hollywood Stars Embrace Celibacy and Reflect on Dating

3 weeks ago 0

Mackenzie Phillips openly discussed her evolving perspective on dating and celibacy in Valerie Bertinelli’s “Getting Naked” podcast. Now 66, Phillips explained her need for solitude to recharge. “After a busy day, I had no words left,” she shared, highlighting her decision of 15 years of celibacy. “I’ve had enough sex to last several lifetimes,” Phillips added, emphasizing self-care over dating.

Bertinelli supported Phillips, revealing her own period of celibacy lasting almost two years.

Phillips married music manager Jeff Sessler, guitarist Shane Fontayne, and later, Keith Levenson, with each marriage ending in divorce.

This trend isn’t limited to Phillips. Sharon Stone also embraced celibacy, sharing her journey on “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown” podcast. “I’ve been celibate for quite a while now,” Stone said, expressing a desire for companionship over casual relationships. Stone was married to Michael Greenburg and Phil Bronstein before choosing a single life focused on personal growth and selectivity in partnerships.

Teri Hatcher, renowned for roles in “Desperate Housewives” and “Lois & Clark,” confirmed her single status. “I’m so single,” she stated, admitting to not dating for seven years. Hatcher values her longstanding friendships and community over the challenges of modern dating. While she briefly joined a dating app, she was mistakenly flagged as a fake profile, leading to her decision to abandon such platforms.

Hatcher, previously married to Marcus Liethold and Jon Tenney, remains open to meeting new people in organic settings.
