Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor’s Relationship on the Mets

1 hour ago 0

Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor lead the New York Mets but rumors suggest they are not the best of friends. The team, expected to excel, struggles in the league.

Lindor joined the Mets in 2021 with a 10-year, $341 million contract. Soto arrived later on a massive 15-year, $765 million deal. Both aimed to signal a fresh start under owner Steve Cohen. Reports hinted at tension between the two last year, affecting their partnership.

“I think that’s a story from last year,” Cohen told the New York Post. “They get along much better now.”

Cohen’s remarks came as the story seemed to fade away. This prompted both players to address the topic. Soto made an unusual comparison:

“When you meet a girl, you don’t start kissing her right away,” he told The Athletic.

Despite persistent rumors, Soto claimed there were “no issues” between them. Lindor echoed a similar sentiment:

“The more time we spend together, it’s only natural that our relationship continues to grow,” Lindor told the outlet.

Fan speculation arose when reports noted the separation of their lockers and sparse greetings on Opening Day. The Athletic highlighted their “hard conversations,” but Lindor dismissed them:

“We talk every single day. Our job is to win games,” he said.

Due to injuries, they have played just 15 games together this season. However, they remain slated as teammates until 2032.
