Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to visit Washington, D.C., next week to meet with President Donald Trump and attend a memorial service for the late Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. Netanyahu’s office confirmed the travel plans, stating he will depart Israel on Monday and meet Trump the following day. Celebration of Graham’s life and legacy will occur on Tuesday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., and Wednesday, July 29, in South Carolina.

Netanyahu recently paid tribute to Graham, calling him a “dear friend.” He stated, “Lindsey is a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine. We have no better friend than Lindsey. He understood that the security of Israel and America are inseparable.” Netanyahu emphasized Graham’s dedication to defending America, strengthening their alliance, and supporting the free world.

Netanyahu expressed his personal loss, stating, “Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.” The US and Israel recently launched Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion against Iran on February 28.

For the past 13 days, US Central Command has conducted airstrikes on Iranian military targets. Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces have countered provocations from Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed group in Lebanon. Netanyahu reiterated his sentiments about Graham, describing him as a “dear friend.”
