Dear Eric,
I find myself struggling with my love for gossip. It’s an activity I genuinely enjoy and engage in often. I talk about others with friends, over the phone, and when I’m out. However, this is causing friction in my marriage.
My spouse disapproves of my gossiping habits. He feels it portrays me negatively and cannot seem to move past it. As a result, this issue is creating tension between us. While I don’t feel a need to share this pastime with him, his concerns are still impactful.
I want to adapt for the sake of our relationship, but I also find it difficult to change a habit I enjoy. Navigating this situation is challenging, and I am seeking guidance on how to balance these aspects of my life.
