Matt Brown had long battled addiction before his passing.

“They discovered a body in the river a few hours ago, confirmed as Matt,” Bear revealed in a TikTok video. Bear confirmed that it was their brother Noah who identified Matt.

“I never thought he would harm himself, honestly. He fought for many years, and I feared he would overdose or something similar. I didn’t think he would end his own life.”

Matt Brown, who appeared on “Alaskan Bush People” from 2014 to 2019, has passed away at the age of 42.

Bear added, “It appears the injury is self-inflicted. The coroner is still examining, but I wanted you all to know it’s him.”

On Wednesday, the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office deputies reacted to a 911 call from a witness. The caller reported seeing a man sitting in a shallow part of the river and later found the man face down in the water, swept by the current. According to reports, a firearm was found nearby where the man was last seen.
