Meghan Markle Shares Photos of Children at Althorp

3 weeks ago 0

Meghan Markle recently posted photos of her children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, enjoying time at the childhood home of the late Princess Diana. This move triggers royal experts to describe Meghan’s actions as inappropriate.

In the Instagram post titled “Summer Holiday,” one image captures Prince Harry walking with his children on a grassy path surrounded by hedges and large trees. The location is believed to be Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral estate. In the photo, Archie and Harry hold bouquets, possibly indicating a visit to Princess Diana’s burial site on the estate’s island.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich suggests Prince William might be “livid” about Markle sharing these pictures. According to her, such posts bring unwelcome publicity to Althorp, fueling William’s resolve to prevent Meghan and Harry from re-entering the royal fold. Fordwich also mentions that palace aides and others dedicated to protecting the monarchy will prevent Meghan and Harry’s attempts at significant engagement.

“Prince William likely finds the commercialization of Althorp appalling, which will strengthen his opposition,” Fordwich elaborates.

Another royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, states the Spencers likely allowed Meghan and Harry to visit Althorp, making the post acceptable. He notes Meghan and Harry have maintained silence following their meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla, contrasting with past incidents. Future meetings depend on their discretion regarding media interaction.

Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, views Markle’s decision to publicize a private moment as “predictable.” According to Chard, this ties them to the royal narrative while selectively using their royal connection.

“Sharing the photos aligns them with royal history, but also indicates tension and selective engagement,” Chard comments.

In the context of the couple’s recent visit to the U.K., they reportedly met King Charles and Queen Camilla. Fordwich believes that despite King Charles’s interest in reuniting with Harry, Prince William’s opposition will prevent the couple from reclaiming any substantial royal duties.

Chard doubts King Charles will reintegrate Harry and Meghan into royal life without a meaningful apology and accountability, which has not occurred yet.
