An Ohio man, accused of shoplifting, attempted a daring escape that involved leaping onto a moving vehicle, as shown in dramatic video footage.
Two men from Ohio, including the suspect Kaamil O’Berry, were stopped by Miami Township police on July 27 after allegedly shoplifting from a Kroger. According to WKRC, O’Berry fled the scene on foot, prompting a pursuit.
The incident escalated as O’Berry was seen dashing over an on-ramp to Interstate 75, attempting to evade law enforcement. A video captured him running across a grassy area beside the interstate.

During his escape, O’Berry ran onto the interstate and leaped onto the hood of a woman’s vehicle, which continued moving. He allegedly tried to take control of the car, damaging and breaking the windshield in the process, before disappearing from the highway camera’s view.
The chase concluded after O’Berry fell from the car’s hood and was subsequently apprehended by police. Officers transported him to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
O’Berry now faces several charges including obstructing official business, theft, and aggravated robbery. His accomplice in the alleged theft, David Sutter, faces a charge of complicity to theft.
