Retired Professor Charged in Wife’s Murder

A retired mathematics professor, Leland Jameson, age 64, faces charges for allegedly killing his wife, Chisen Jameson. She served as an airline meteorologist. Police responded to their Fair Oaks, Virginia home after Chisen, who was 60, was found with gunshot wounds. Prior to the shooting, Chisen called 911, and officials reported that gunfire sounds were audible during the call, as per FOX 5 reports.

Leland Jameson received charges of second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. This former professor at George Mason University holds a Ph.D. from Brown University.

Leland had also called 911, mentioning a domestic dispute and expressing uncertainty about the extent of his wife’s injuries. The authorities discovered multiple firearms within the residence.

Chisen Jameson worked as a meteorologist for All Nippon Airways at Dulles Airport. The airline expressed its deep sorrow over the loss. A spokesperson stated, “All Nippon Airways is heartbroken by the loss of our colleague. She was a valued member of our team and her passing has deeply affected everyone who knew and worked with her.”

The couple shared two adult sons who also reside in Northern Virginia.
